Happy Fall to the High Country family! The club is excited to announce its 51st season of competition and share the men’s and women’s+ schedules for the 25-26 season.

Thank you so much to our friends, family, old boys, and golden girls for the overwhelming support you have shown this club for the past five decades. Whether you are a former player or a loyal supporter, High Country exists because of your dedication. We couldn’t be more excited honor your commitment by bringing the club into its next 50 years of competition.

You can now follow along to both the men’s and women’s+ matches via High Country’s profile on Rugby Xplorer, the official digital platform used by USA Rugby to track teams, matches, and fixtures.

New High Country Executive Board

High Country recently elected new club officers who will serve for the next two years! We want to thank the outgoing board—especially the outgoing Presidents, Andreu Silverman and Lauren Peretz—for their dedication and hard work. Many rugby clubs are still struggling and others have folded in recent years as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but High Country is stronger than ever and is officially the largest rugby club in Georgia because of their leadership!

Homecoming

We are excited to announce that High Country’s homecoming is early this year! Due to USA Rugby moving up club rugby’s Matrix timetable to accommodate summer 7s, our homecoming will be on November 15th! The men will host the Alpharetta Exiles and the women will host the Memphis Flamingoes.

Heaps Pies—based in Decatur and owned by a rugby-loving couple from New Zealand—will be selling savory hand pies at homecoming. Everything that Heaps makes is delicious, and we are excited that they are joining us!

The pitch location, kickoff time, and social theme will be announced shortly.

After roughly doubling their numbers over the past year, the women’s+ team started its second 15s season in True South with a 29-0 win in a friendly match against the Gwinnett Lionesses. They will have their first official competition match against the Memphis Flamingoes during High Country’s homecoming on November 15th, after which they will have two more home matches throughout the Spring.
